Hi everyone, Lee Brazil is here today as part of the Breathless Press Round Robin Tour. He’s going to tell us all a little bit about “temptation” and then give us information on his new book of the same name 🙂 Enjoy!
Good morning! Thank you Rebekah for hosting me here at your blog today. I am Lee Brazil, author of m/m romance for Breathless Press, Silver Publishing, and Evernight. I write primarily contemporary romances, but I have been known to stray into the realms of paranormal and regency era fiction as well. Regardless of the vehicle, the underlying theme of my books is that everyone deserves to love and be loved.
Now, they didn’t give me an assigned topic for this little jaunt, and that is probably going to work out okay because I’m going to talk about Temptation. Not my book, Temptation, but temptation, as in … a desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise.
The origin of this word is from the Latin temptare meaning ‘handle, test, try’.
And that’s pretty much what we do on this earth. We’re surrounded all our lives by things that tempt us. It’s our job to resist.
The alarm goes off in the morning. Brrrriiinnngg
Temptation rears its ugly head. “This bed is soft and warm, you’ve got the pillow exactly where it fits best. Sleep five more minutes, there’s plenty of time.”
The light on the coffee pot turns orange. You’re spooning sugar and pouring cream in your cup. Temptation is there again. “Two spoons of sugar won’t hurt just once. A Double dose of cream will make that perfect.”
We aren’t all tempted by the same things. When I’m shopping, it’s difficult for me to resist a good cheese, or a nice crusty loaf of fresh baked bread even though I know I’m going to regret the calories and carbs. When I’m feeling down, I can’t resist crawling in bed with a good book when I know damned well I should be working or writing or something. I’ve got a friend who can’t resist a good bargain on a pair of shoes, and another who can’t pass up a piece of pie no matter what diet he’s on.
Some temptations are easier to resist than others. I have no trouble saying no to chocolate or ice cream, or even pie. Saying no to a new cd by favorite artist? Oh yeah, that’s difficult. Saying no to a new book when my TBR pile is over a hundred titles long? Yeah, that’s challenging.
What tempts you? How good are you at resisting the allure of the forbidden?
Some Temptations are easy to resist, others you have no choice but to give in. And giving in, is sometimes the best thing for you! Lake Wynters finds that out in Temptation.
Temptation by Lee Brazil
An m/m Contemporary menage
Blurb
After a hot interlude at a holiday party, Lake Wynters and Solomon Arsdale exchange phone numbers but not promises. Lake is fine with that until something happens he’s never experienced. As days pass without Solomon calling, Lake discovers he just can’t forget the sexy older man. Giving in to temptation, he takes matters into his own hands and visits Solomon at his office, breaking his own dating rules.
Waiting in Solomon’s office, Lake is shaken to the core by how much Solomon’s acknowledgement of their encounter means to him, and how much more he wants it to lead to.
But when the door he’s eagerly watching opens, it brings new temptation in the form of Adonis Kosmias. Adonis isn’t anything like Solomon. Not many would call him beautiful. His features are too harsh, his body too angular. But he moves with fluid grace and his hair falls in perfect waves and his eyes sparkle with warmth. From the first touch of his hand Lake is thrown into even greater confusion. So distracted by Adonis’s touch is he, that when Solomon finally makes an appearance, their hands are still clasped.
Meeting Solomon again while holding hands with another man wasn’t in Lake’s plan. Neither was anything that happened afterward.
